FAQ
What products do you use?
I use high street brands such as Hourglass, Lisa Eldridge, Makeup Forever, Victoria Beckham, Ilia, and Armani (See some of the actual products in my kit linked HERE). I prefer to source from hypoallergenic and cruelty free brands. My kit has been carefully edited to be both functional and high performing. All my makeup is housed in ÉTOILE Pro at my studio in historic downtown Charlottesville when not with me on-site. I religiously clean my extensive brush collection and kit with hot peppermint soap.
How long have you been doing makeup?
I have been doing makeup professionally for 7 years. In addition to makeup artistry, I received my Bachelor of Arts from James Madison University in 2012.
How would you describe your style of artistry?
My style can be best described as a ‘glowy, elevated, natural’ style of makeup. My artistry is meant to enhance a brides natural features. This is why most brides book me. I like to keep the skin radiant and bring soft definition to the face, so it will photograph well, but also feel like you! I would not be the best fit for a bride that wants a heavy or full glam look and I would be happy to refer you to an artist who may be a better fit in that case.
Do you travel?
Yes, I am a destination makeup artist and prioritize weddings that take me to new places.
How do I book?
Please start by filling out my questionnaire. If I am available your date, I will send you an estimate and contract to review. From there, I am happy to set up a complimentary 15 minute phone call to discuss any questions. Travel arrangements are made 3-6 months prior to the wedding and invoiced separately at that time.
Do you do airbrush?
I do not use airbrush as I do not believe this allows the natural radiance of the skin to shine. I like to work by building up fine layers of traditional foundation as I believe this is what gives the makeup a natural skin-like finish and longevity.
Do you provide touch ups?
If you would like me to stay additionally for touch ups, this can be booked at an hourly rate. I also am happy to do your rehearsal dinner makeup for an additional fee.
What does the bridal trial process look like?
I hold trials at my studio in historic downtown Charlottesville or your preferred location. I recommend a trial within 6 months of the wedding date.
During the bridal makeup trial, I will start with a brief consultation to get to know you and discuss the desired level of makeup for your wedding day. During this time, you can also show me any inspiration makeup images that you have brought with you. I will plan to ask you questions to help pinpoint and bring your vision to life. Please be prepared for the trial with a clean face and an outfit that provides you with a sense of the wedding day. Please reserve 2 hours for the trial.
How does timeline work on the wedding day?
I will work with you or your planner to customize a timeline for your wedding day.
